What if I only want to come to
one or two of the events?
No worries! Just register for the
individual competitions that you
would like to attend.
If I register for each of the
three individual comps, am I still
eligible to compete in/win the
series?
Yes! If you know you want to compete
in all three comps it's best to
enter the series though-that way you
guarantee a space for yourself at
all three competitions in one shot.
I want to stop being such a lame
chach and become a member of the
organizations that support my
climbing access! How do I do this?
Welcome to the real world! Let
Triple Crown be the first to
congratulate you on your question!
Simply visit the Southeastern
Climbers' Coalition website at
www.seclimbers.org - information
on how to become a valuable member
of the climbing community is there.
You can also register at any of the
three Triple Crown competitions.
What are the categories of the
competition?
Male and Female Categories are:
Male Novice: V0-V2
Male Intermediate: V3-V5
Male Advanced: V6-V8
Male Open: V9-Vsick
Female Novice: V0-V2
Female Intermediate: V3-V4
Female Advanced: V5-V6
Female Open: V7-Vsick
Unisex Categories:
Junior: 12yrs and under
Ancient Hard Person: 35yrs and up
Important Note: Choose a category
based on whether or not you could
complete two previously unclimbed
problems (in a given day) of that
grade. That will likely put you into
the appropriate category.
I'm really lame and I'd like to
compete in a category below my real
climbing level so I can win a great
prize. What should I do?
Don't come to this event. Space is
limited and we want only excited
climbers who encourage each other.
The judges of the Triple Crown
reserve the right to "bump"
competitors into a higher category
if their score reflects they should
belong there. Make this event more
fun for everyone and do your best to
place yourself into the appropriate
category.
I'm from ******** and I've never
climbed in the Southeast. Is there
anything that I should know about
the grades down there? Are they
hard, soft or what?!?
Ratings are very subjective. One
person's V1 is another's V6.
Suggestions on ratings are welcome
but don't complain about any unfair
advantages due to height, weight,
health, or religious beliefs.
