Crash Pad Drive for the Homeless

We’re Teaming with the Crashpad to support the Chattanooga Community Kitchen and the Homeless—----WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Each night in Chattanooga, an estimated 500-600 individuals have no consistent place to spend the night. These folks are homeless. And, while most episodes of homelessness are less than 90 days, between 4 and 5,000 different people experience this condition of instability and apparent hopelessness each year. And for these folks, homelessness is definitely not a choice. Year after year, unemployment, eviction/foreclosure and domestic violence remain the top three causes of homelessness. When asked what they’re looking for, invariably they say: “a place to live.”

Of course, a place to live isn’t always available the first day. And for those that must camp, a crash pad can be a pretty cool tool. A backpack…a bed…a portable campsite. While an old crash pad may no longer be useful for bouldering, a homeless person can carry belongings in it during the day and use it as a camping pad at night…a pretty cool way to reuse –and there’s a benefit to you as well.

PLEASE BRING YOUR TIRED, OLD CRASH PADS TO THE EVENT. OUR LOCAL FRIENDS AT THE CRASHPAD http://www.crashpadchattanooga.com/ WILL HAVE A BOOTH AT PRE-REGISTRATION AND AT THE COMP ON SATURDAY. DONATE YOUR OLD CRASH PADS AT THEIR BOOTH…….AND GIVE YOURSELF A GREAT CHANCE TO WIN A BRAND NEW CRASHPAD!!.........but, more importantly………do a very good deed for those in need!!

Entertainment!!

Beginning at 5pm - competitors and spectators will be treated to live music……from a stage that will be located along the 18th Fairway (adjacent to the boulderfield)!! Big Thanks to Montlake for putting this together for us!!!

Fantastic local Bluegrass band, Strung Like a Horse, will be playing for us!!!!! See their website for a snapshot!!!..........and, their ‘Gypsy Jane’ video featuring Chris Sierzant!

Beginning at 7:30pm - Triple Crown presents the Reel Rock Tour!!  Right on the 18th Fairway next to the boulderfield!!  It will be a fantastic show........and, it's free to Stone Fort/Triple Crown competitors.  Additional tickets will be $15 and can be purchased at the gate next to the Montlake Clubhouse any time before 7:30pm on Comp Day.

SATURDAY EARLY EVENING, DECEMBER 8

Dinner

Dinner will be served around 5pm. Cost per plate will be $5. Montlake will be serving/selling beer if you are of age. Just be sure to bring your ID and cash. You’ll be able to use a Debit Card at the clubhouse as well.

*There will be beer if you are of age. Just be sure to bring your ID.

TRIPLE CROWN GREEN INITIATIVE CONTINUES!!!!
